Frequently Asked Questions

Surrey Tree Surgeons FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) & Answers

Do you have insurance and tree surgeon certifications?

Absolutely!

At Surrey Tree Surgeons, our arborists, tree surgeons and staff members are insured and certified to deliver unparalleled services to our valued clients.

We maintain a comprehensive tree surgeon insurance coverage of £10 million for public and employer liability, along with a professional indemnity policy.

These costly insurance policies ensure that we, you, and the public are fully protected in the event of unforeseen circumstances.

Please refer to our website’s dedicated tree surgeon insurance page for detailed information and evidence of our insurance coverage.

Regarding certifications in tree surgery, each specific task or service may require our team members to possess a unique set of specialist certifications to carry out the work safely.

Rest assured, every team member at Surrey Tree Surgeons is certified and competent to fulfil their assigned tasks and responsibilities.

Feel free to ask if you need verification of our staff’s qualifications.

Do you need to enter my home, e.g. for electricity?

If you have suitable access for clearing logs, branches, and other debris from your property, such as a side entrance, we will not need to enter your home.

Furthermore, all our equipment operates using petrol, diesel, or cordless batteries, eliminating the need for a direct source of electricity.

How do I accept a quote?

The most straightforward way to accept a quote is to respond via email. After that, we can discuss the next steps, which include coordinating the project’s timeline and arranging practical details such as parking and access.

How do I get a quote, and how much does it cost?

Get in touch with us to arrange a complimentary on-site visit and a no-obligation quote that is valid for 30 days.

Every quote we provide is thoroughly detailed, expertly prepared, and will be emailed directly to you.

How will you leave my property?

Upon completing any work, we will do our best to ensure your property is left tidy and orderly, minimising any traces of our presence.

Unless discussed to the contrary, we dispose of all green waste and clean the working area using blowers and other hand tools to remove debris.

Depending on the tree size or project scope, there may be some lawn damage; however, we will exert every effort to minimise this.

We will implement ground protection mats when operating heavy machinery on damp soil as a precautionary measure.

Surrey Tree Surgeons has established an exceptional reputation for leaving properties in superb condition, often surpassing their original appearance.

What happens to the green waste, branches, twigs, timber and logs etc?

We hold a legitimate license for the transportation of green waste and ensure we repurpose, recycle or dispose of it responsibly.

Our company repurposes most of the waste generated by our operations, and we send the remaining waste to power plants for biomass.

You are welcome to keep any materials, such as woodchips or logs. That said, please notify us in advance so we can adjust the price accordingly.

When can you begin my project once I have accepted the quote?

While we strive to arrange work as quickly as possible, delays may occur due to unpredictable problems and other factors beyond our control.

During the winter months, from October to February, tree contractors experience high demand, and adverse weather conditions can contribute to delays.

If you have a protected tree (TPO) or it’s in a conservation area, you’ll require prior permission, which may take up to 8 weeks to obtain.

We understand some projects are time-sensitive, and we always prioritise scheduling work to accommodate your preferences and availability.

If you have specific time constraints, we kindly ask that you get in touch so we can better understand your project requirements.
